Step Deck Trucking

Often referred to as single drop or drop deck trailers, step deck vehicles are actually a type of flatbed trailer that features a rising step deck located towards the front and sits above the tractor unit. Used for hauling taller shipments, that can become challenging when using other types of equipment, step deck trailers allow cargo to sit lower down, thereby avoiding height restrictions and eliminating the need to apply for additional permits.

Allowing for loads of up to 10’ high, step deck trailers can come with retractable side curtain panels that provide great protection from the elements of weather. Step deck transportation helps reduce safety risks because of the ability to make the loading and unloading process much easier. Due to the fact that these trailers are situated closer to ground level, forklift operators will have an easier time when picking-up or delivering – making it a much safer process for everyone involved.
